Thank you for always working to understand the full situation and for exploring the entirety of issues at hand. Thank you for always being supportive and for providing a productive, positive environment for working with us and most importantly, my son. I’m sure that he learned a lot from this situation, and we would not have been able to navigate without the help of both of you. Thank you for being tirelessly committed and for pursuing the best possible outcome.

OVERVIEW & EXPERIENCE

Kristina Supler is co-chair of KJK’s Student & Athlete Defense / Title IX Practice Group alongside Susan Stone. She represents students, professors and families nationwide in Title IX investigations, academic misconduct cases, campus disciplinary proceedings and research misconduct investigations. Together, Kristina and Susan have built one of the few legal practices in the country focused entirely on protecting the rights of students and educators.

For nearly two decades, Kristina has counseled clients through some of the most complex and sensitive cases, including claims of sexual assault, harassment and other campus misconduct. She is frequently retained in cases that involve parallel criminal investigations and provides counsel in hearings, appeals and related litigation.

Kristina’s work also includes student personal injury claims tied to educational institutions. She fights for the rights of students who have experienced sexual assault, hazing, bullying, athletic injuries and harm caused by misconduct on campus. Her practice includes pursuing Section 1983 claims against government entities and officials for civil rights violations.

She also regularly represents clients in academic and research misconduct cases, including allegations of plagiarism, cheating and data falsification. Her representation extends to Greek organizations and student-athletes, assisting with disciplinary actions and crisis response.

A certified restorative justice facilitator, Kristina is known for helping clients resolve disputes and repair harm through informal resolution and mediation, often preserving academic standing and future opportunities while minimizing conflict.

She is widely sought after for her work with students who have mental health and neurological disorders, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in particular. Kristina is a fearless advocate for clients with disabilities. Her ability to communicate with school officials, attorneys and judges about the behavioral and social challenges faced by those on the spectrum helps achieve fair treatment for these students throughout disciplinary and legal proceedings.

In addition to her work on education matters, Kristina co-leads KJK’s Reputation Management practice, where she helps clients navigate online backlash, defamation and other forms of reputational harm. Certified in crisis communication, she develops comprehensive strategies that navigate legal, academic and public relations responses to safeguard her clients’ futures.

An acting judge in Shaker Heights Municipal Court, Kristina brings a unique perspective to her legal practice, allowing her to better advise her clients. She is also a trusted resource for journalists covering education and Title IX issues, frequently contributing insight to national conversations on student legal rights. Kristina served on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers (NACDL). She also served as a trustee for the Cleveland State University College of Law Alumni Association. Currently, Kristina serves on the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Judge4Yourself committee, which interviews and rates judicial candidates in order to assist the public in the election of qualified judges in Ohio.

Outside of work, Kristina enjoys spending time with her husband and two children, traveling and reading.
