KJK partner Jon Groza recently joined Andy Hoar and Brian Beck on the Master B2B Friday 15 podcast to discuss how brands can protect themselves against unauthorized users and address the growing challenges posed by unauthorized resellers. Too often, companies lose control as distributors push their products through marketplaces like Amazon and eBay.

The conversation explored practical strategies to safeguard intellectual property, maintain pricing control and preserve brand integrity in today’s competitive marketplace. Without strong enforcement, companies risk mounting costs, loss of control, retail price erosion and channel conflict.

Your brand is the most important thing you have going, and I would argue even oftentimes more important in this day and age in the world of e-commerce” Jon stated. “If you’re not policing that, then it’s probably not wise”.

While some buyers may believe unauthorized sellers provide more options, Jon emphasized that quality and protection must take precedence. He pointed out that greater product availability does not necessarily translate into value. Consumers are ultimately better served when purchasing through authorized channels, where they can rely on warranties, product integrity and the brand itself.
