OVERVIEW & EXPERIENCE

Alex Jones is an attorney at KJK and an integral member of the firm’s eCommerce, Intellectual Property and Corporate practice groups. He leverages KJK’s innovative and cost-effective strategies to protect companies’ brands, intellectual property, and thwart unauthorized resellers. Alex has worked with dozens of companies across various industries, guiding them through their eCommerce needs from start to finish. He is well-versed in intellectual property law, adept at identifying and taking down unauthorized resellers, and addressing other threats to a brand’s image and reputation. His experience includes representing brands nationwide in lawsuits against unauthorized sellers and other bad actors.

In addition to his eCommerce and IP work, Alex plays a crucial role on KJK’s Corporate team, where he focuses on mergers and acquisitions. He assists companies in expanding their businesses through acquisitions and provides guidance and support in the sale of businesses. Alex also helps clients draft and negotiate commercial contracts.

Alex’s dedication to his practice has earned him consistent recognition in The Best Lawyers in America® “Ones to Watch” editions in the Mergers and Acquisitions Law category. He was also chosen for the Cleveland Leadership Center’s Bridge Builders class of 2023 and the Cleveland Metropolitan Bar Association’s Leadership Academy class of 2021-2022, both of which offer leadership and professional development for attorneys committed to driving meaningful community change.

A graduate of Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, Alex is a Cleveland resident and an avid bicyclist.

  • Representing private equity groups and family offices in such transaction as:
    • Rollup of multiple plastics manufacturers in the waste disposal industry
    • $8 million acquisition of the assets of leading orthotics manufacturer
    • $12.5 million acquisition of assets and related rollover arrangement of a manufacturer of highway and traffic safety products
    • Acquisition of stock a manufacturer of open wire, electrical assemblies and wiring harnesses.
    • Acquisition of a leading insurance adjusting firm with operations across the country, Canada and the Caribbean for $10 million.
    • Acquisition of car dealership and related real estate purchase
  • Representing companies in the sale of their business in such transaction as:
    • $82 million sale of assets of an aviation repair and service company to a strategic buyer
    • Sale of numerous insurance and benefits provider to large private equity firm
    • $35 million sale of equity of a manufacturer of thermal valve and related components to
  • Negotiating merger and other transactions such as:
    • Public to private merger of pet toy company into a strategic buyer
    • A division, and subsequent new partnership, of a $300 million real estate portfolio
    • Public to private merger of a natural gas utility company
