Kohrman Jackson & Krantz is pleased to have represented Carls Patio in its acquisition by furniture retailer Rooms to Go. Carls Patio is a Royal Palm Beach, Fla.-based retailer of luxury outdoor furniture that operates 12 brick-and-mortar retail stores and two e-commerce platforms. Rooms To Go is a Seffner, Fla.-based indoor furniture retailer with 135 stores across the Southeast.
Prior to the Jan. 23 deal, Carls Patio was a portfolio company of Weinberg Capital Group in Cleveland, Ohio, since March 2013. Steve Bersticker, a KJK partner who chairs the firm’s Corporate Practice Group and leads its mergers and acquisitions practice area, advised Carls and Weinberg in the transaction. The deal will allow Carls to expand its market share, and allow Rooms to Go to enter the outdoor furniture market.
