KJK is proud to announce that Managing Partner Jon Pinney has been accepted into the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2018. He will join other prominent senior-level leaders from Northeast Ohio’s business, civic and nonprofit sectors in this 10-month program run by the Cleveland Leadership Center. Beginning in September, Jon and his cohort of participants will collaborate on a civic project designed to deepen their community impact.

Jon has led KJK as managing partner since 2015. He was a driving force behind making the 2016 Republican National Convention a success for Cleveland; he was primary author of the bid that secured Cleveland’s selection for the event, oversaw the creation of hundreds of convention-related contracts and served as secretary, treasurer and general counsel for the Host Committee.

His other civic involvement has included board appointments with Destination Cleveland, the Cuyahoga Community College Foundation, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum and the Arthritis Foundation. Jon is currently serving as board member, secretary, treasurer and general counsel of FRONT International, a citywide contemporary art event that will feature the work of 50 international artists every three years.

In his legal work, Jon represents prominent privately-held businesses, entrepreneurs, nonprofit organizations and high net-worth families. For example, Jon has been part of major public-private economic development partnerships, handled wealth planning and philanthropic giving for some of the region’s wealthiest families, and represented real estate developers, construction companies, landlords and other parties in commercial real estate matters.

Jon is a Youngstown native who earned a bachelor’s degree from John Carroll University and law degree from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
