OVERVIEW & EXPERIENCE

Antonio (Tony) Dempsey is a skilled and well-rounded attorney who assists across a variety of KJK’s practice groups. With an extensive background in technology, he offers a unique and valuable skillset to the firm.

Tony’s practice primarily focuses on supporting KJK’s eCommerce clients in litigation and enforcement matters, including issues related to counterfeit products, unauthorized sellers, and intellectual property protection, as well as implementation and revision of MAP Policies, authorized reseller/distribution agreements, and warranty protection. He also works with businesses on broader commercial disputes, including contract enforcement and restrictive covenant matters, helping clients navigate complex, tech-driven challenges.

Tony earned his J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law, graduating cum laude. He holds dual bachelor’s degrees in materials science and engineering from Case Western Reserve University and engineering physics from John Carroll University. During his time at Akron Law, Tony held leadership roles in moot court and patent drafting competitions.

Outside of work, Tony volunteers with Medina County 4-H and serves as president of the Medina County Aquarium Society. A lifelong aquarist, he also enjoys woodworking, golf, lawn care, and 3-D printing.

Representative Experience
  • Represented a company in enforcing restrictive covenants against a former employee accused of misusing trade secrets for competitive advantage, including groundwork, drafting and revising the agreement
  • Conducted background research and analysis to identify and evaluate companies suspected of intellectual property infringement, with a focus on technology and engineering sectors
  • Supported data-driven litigation by interpreting complex datasets to assess legal exposure and inform case valuation strategies
  • Drafted MAP Policies and authorized reseller agreements and revised distribution agreements and warranties for companies expanding their eCommerce presence
  • Actively worked with manufacturers eCommerce, marketing and sales teams to protect their brand value and quality of their product lines on the Amazon Marketplace, Walmart.com, eBay.com, AliExpress.com, Alibaba and more
