OVERVIEW & EXPERIENCE

Emily Korthaus is a skilled associate who assists across KJK’s wide variety of practice groups. Before joining the firm’s Columbus office, Emily took part in KJK’s 2021 summer associate program. Emily holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications from The Ohio State University, where she graduated cum laude, and a Juris Doctorate from Cleveland State University Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, graduating magna cum laude. Emily served as the managing editor of the Cleveland State Law Review and was secretary of the Student Federal Bar Association.

Prior to pursuing her legal career, Emily worked in IT sales where she specialized in the financial and banking space, working with application development and cloud computing technologies, as well as financial products and banking initiatives. This experience sparked her passion for law, and she subsequently began her Juris Doctorate pursuit. While in law school, Emily worked as a legal assistant for a Columbus-based law firm and acquired an internship with the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, conducting legal research and providing opinions for the court.

Emily is an avid football fan and can be found cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes football team and the Cleveland Browns. In her free time, she enjoys playing golf and cooking. As a member of the Franklin Park Conservatory, a botanical garden and conservatory, Emily spends most days in the park alongside her dog, Cheddar.
