Josie Forney is an associate with KJK’s Litigation & Arbitration practice group, where she focuses on commercial litigation and also handles a range of civil litigation matters. She conducts in-depth legal research and provides research-driven insights that help address complex disputes. Josie has played an active role in drafting tailored discovery questions and supporting cases in both employment law and commercial litigation, working to resolve intricate issues on behalf of the firm’s clients.
During law school, Josie gained hands-on experience as a law clerk at a boutique firm in the Greater Cleveland region and as a summer associate with KJK’s Cleveland office. She was also a dedicated member of Akron Law’s nationally recognized Trial Team, serving as President from 2024–2025. In that role, Josie honed her courtroom skills and helped lead her team to national recognition, including a first-place finish at the 2023 National Civil Trial Competition.
Josie earned her J.D. from the University of Akron School of Law in 2025, where she also held leadership positions in student organizations such as the Student Animal Legal Defense Fund, the Law Association for Women, and the Peer Mentorship Program. She holds a B.A. in Criminal Justice from Kent State University.
